DR. AKABUIKE HAILS DE PINNACLE INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL CLUB FOR THEIR HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT TO COOUTH The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Hon. Dr. Joe Akabuike, in the company of Prof, Kate Omenugha, the vice Chancellor of COOU, on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, received the distinguished members of De Pinnacle International Social Club who visited the hospital on a welfare outreach. The delegation, led by their president, Chief Sir David Nwosu (Nwannedinamba), and vice president, Chief Sir Kene Nweke (Uduakomili), stormed the hospital with a clear mission to bring relief to indigent patients struggling to settle their medical bills. The team, made up of respected personalities including High Chief Christopher Ndubisi (Ikenga Umuawulu), H.E. Amb. Elijah Onyeagba, Hon. Ikenna Iyiegbu (Onyechimelueze), Hon. Prince Chinedu Okafor, Mayor Awka South, among others, interacted with patients across various wards, offering comfort and hope. During the visit, the club, known for its nonprofit and humanitarian orientation, donated the impressive sum of ₦5 million to offset medical bills for financially challenged patients. Their magnanimity brought immediate relief to families burdened by healthcare expenses. Dr. Akabuike, alongside the Public Relations Officer of COOUTH, Agbai Henrietta (ANIPR), and the Assistant head of Nursing Services, Nurse Ifeanyi Okeke, personally led the team through the wards to witness firsthand the impact of their intervention. Dr. Akabuike commended the club for their exceptional generosity, noting that their gesture reflects the broader vision of the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, who advocates for strong public-private collaboration in advancing societal welfare. He emphasized that while government continues to invest heavily in the health sector, the support of philanthropic individuals and organizations remains vital in ensuring that every citizen enjoys quality and affordable healthcare.
