DR. AKABUIKE RECEIVES REPRESENTATIVES OF DEBORAH PRAYING WOMEN INITIATIVE ON A COURTESY VISIT.
The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka, Hon. Dr. Joe Akabuike warmly received members of the Deborah Praying women initiative who paid a courtesy visit to him on 20th of June, 2025. The Leader of the group, Dr. Mrs Chioma Okoye disclosed that the purpose of the visit was to familiarise with the hospital’s leadership and operations, and to explore possible areas of collaboration, particularly in the realm of philanthropy and healthcare support. She appreciated the management team led by Dr. Joe Akabuike for positioning the Health Institution in a place of pride that got their interest for partnership.
Dr. Akabuike warmly welcomed the delegation, commending the group for its consistent commitment to humanitarian service and spiritual support especially to patients in different parts of the country. He appreciated their visit and expressed the hospital’s openness to collaborate in improving patient care and general healthcare delivery in the State. He revealed that the plan is to make COOUTH the major centre for medical tourism in Africa. He took them round to some of the facilities in the Teaching Hospital such as the Private ward, Radiology unit, and Mother and Child Care Unit. He expressed the Management's willingness to partner in areas that would benefit patients and enhance holistic service delivery in the Teaching Hospital.
In her remarks, Dr Okoye, the leader of the group expressed the group's desire to partner with the hospital to support vulnerable patients, and contribute to the hospital’s ongoing efforts to deliver quality healthcare. She maintained that together, we look forward to a partnership that brings healing, hope, and help to those who need it the most. Other members of the Management Team present were the CMAC, Dr. Nnaemeka Umedum, the DCMAC, Dr. Ifeoma Njelita, Head of Accounts Department, Mr. Okechukwu Nworie, the Public Relations Officer, Agbai Henrietta. Ag, Head of Nursing services, Angel Nebe and Head of works department, Engr. Olisa Anumonye.
