DR. UMEAKUEWULU HOSTS DEPUTY SPEAKER’S WORLD MALARIA DAY OUTREACH AT COOUTH The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, on Saturday, 25th April 2026, hosted the Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and Member representing Awka South Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye, during his visit to the hospital to commemorate World Malaria Day. The CMD was represented by the Head of Accounts, Mr. Wilson Ezeilo and the Public Relations Officer, Agbai Henrietta, who warmly received the lawmaker and his team. During the visit, Rt. Hon. Okoye distributed mosquito nets and cash gifts to over 30 patients in the wards, bringing relief and encouragement to them. Speaking during the outreach, Rt. Hon. Okoye stated that his visit was aimed at marking World Malaria Day by creating awareness about the dangers of malaria and supporting patients undergoing treatment. He emphasized the importance of preventive measures, especially the use of mosquito nets, and encouraged individuals to seek timely medical care. He further noted that such gestures are part of his commitment to the wellbeing of his constituents and the promotion of public health.
