DR. UMEAKUEWULU RECEIVES COURTESY VISIT FROM NANNM COOUTH EXECUTIVES The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, Dr. Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, on Thursday, 16th April, 2026, received the Executive members of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), COOUTH chapter, on a courtesy visit to her office to warmly welcome her on her assumption of office. As a mark of solidarity and support, the association presented a symbolic artwork depicting a mother carrying her baby on her back under the rain, with a load on her head, yet smiling despite the harsh conditions. The artwork was described as a reflection of her expected role as a motherly figure who will lead and carry the staff through challenging times until a season of relief and progress is attained. In her response, the CMD was visibly emotional and deeply appreciative of the thoughtful gesture, noting that the symbolism of the artwork resonated strongly with her vision for the hospital. She assured the nurses and midwives that, by the grace of God, light would soon shine in COOUTH, and expressed confidence that with the continued support of His Excellency, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Oluatuegwu of Anambra, the institution would witness remarkable transformation. She further encouraged the association to remain steadfast and committed as partners in the collective effort to achieve excellence in healthcare delivery.
